Fender Type strings

So I'm looking for new strings and I've come across a few things.

For those of you who use Fender's stock strings that come on their MIA jazzes, what are those strings? My teacher has them and I'm liking the sound he's getting.

His are lively, but they are quiet strings. Not a lot of clanking against the fingerboard when he pops and slaps. Could that be the strings or is it the fretboard.

If it is the strings, I think I might try them out, what's your guy's opinions on them?

I notice in your sig you have a Tobias Growler. Is that the instrument you're trying to string?

I have a set of stock Fender nickels 45-105 on my on my Tobias 4-string. I don't remember the product name/number, but the wrap is silver, although that may have changed by now as I've had them on there for several years.

It's odd, because I went through lots of different brands looking for a very different sound before trying these. I don't use them on any of my other basses, but they just seems to work beautifully with this particular bass. They're fairly dead at the moment, which is another odd thing because I normally go for that big, lively grand piano sound. However, I'm liking the sort of dry, woody tone I'm getting. Great finger style and slap.

But it's about time for a fresh set, so if I can figure out which one's I've got on there, I'll post an update.

No, I was looking into it for my warwick rockbass or maybe my peavey. I'm pretty satisfied with my flats on the peavey though.
