First Time Stringinging Flats

I have a Fender American jazz bass and I want to re-string with flats. This will be my first time and they appear to be different than rounds in terms of length.

Should I thread them thru the bridge rather than through the body? They look a little shorter but I'm not sure they are too short. I bought DR Hi-Beam FL45 Med Legends.

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Through the bridge. Some flats including LaBella's direct you not to string thru body.

I've even strung em with E thru bridge & A,D & G thru body.
But usually, thru bridge only.

I really don't think it makes a bit of difference. Go through the bridge and be safe, just because.
