I ended up going with strings from https://www.bassstringsonline.com/
I just put on a set of DR High Beams
D .120 G .090 C .065 F .050 A .035
The G is a little loose in the nut; for now I put a piece of plastic in there to hold her steady; next week or sometime after that, I will look at getting a new nut.
I love how this thing plays in this tuning. The strings aren't worn in properly yet, of course, so maybe a tiny bit bright, but still, very nice tone. I also adjusted my pickups just a bit, raising them on the bass side. I tried some different mixes, and used my ears and my wife's. She was in the other room, and I'd call out "this is A; this is B," and she'd pick B every time. In this case B was always both pickups all the way open, tone all the way open.
So I switched it up, and tried a few settings, and she picked A every time. Every time, A was both pickups all the way open, tone all the way open.
That's how I've played both my Jazz basses since Day One, so I guess we'll stick with it. All I have to do is slide my hand down near the bridge and dig in, and I can get a more aggressive attack, anyway.
