| Fix for cutting one too short

I cut my G string from a set of Chromes too short to stay on the post of my Precision. To make matters worse the silk and some of the winding came off so I had bare wire for the last couple inches. I tried to sell the set (to a Stingray player) but no luck, tried tying a knot around the post, and even played 3-string for a while. Finally I had an idea – one that actually worked. The string was long enough to get to the post and go around once. All I really needed was a way of securing it without the usual multiple winds. I took a wooden chopstick, the cheap kind that comes with take-out, and cut a 1-2 inch piece from the small end and filed it down so it just fit into the center hole snugly. Then I put the end of the string in the hole and gently hammered in the chopstick. Then I carefully turned the key to get the string to wind right. I trimmed off the end of the chopstick so it just barely sticks up above the post. I should be able to easily pull it out with some long-nose pliers. I tuned up and played about a half-hour just to make sure it didn’t slip. It looks a little goofy but could be disguised with some silver paint if you're so inclined. I’m probably not the first person to do this kind of fix but I figured it might help others to post it. Happy Holidays!
