Flats On A 55-94? Opinions Welcomed

Sign in to disble this ad
I am thinking of changing my Lakland 55-94 rosewood board over to flatwounds. I know that the J pickup would be happy with the change, but what about the MM configuration?

I did a quick search for "55-94" and "flats" and the closest thing I came up with was a couple of threads on flats on a Stingray.

What is driving this thought is that I recently picked up a Sadowsky NYC Jazz 5 (thanks Sean) with a maple board, so I have the bright, modern jazz sound covered. I am wanting to take the 55-94 into a more classic sound with the use of flats possibly. I welcome any opinions or comments on the changeover.

Thanks,
V

I use Rotosound Jazz Flats 77's on my 55-94, and they work really well, IMO.
