i've heard that labella deep talking flats isn't suitable for through body-stringing. does this rule count for all flatwound string? If not could you recommend me some good flats for my Celinder P-vintage.
Thanks.
Edit: The title should say "Flats and Through body bridge." |

I have a set of old GHS Precision Flats (which are pretty much indistinquishable from the JO set, and I know GHS makes the Lakland strings) that are strung through the body of my Fender Sting Precision bass. I had no problem stringing them through the body. However, I'm really careful when restringing, and I have a LOT of experience because I ran a guitar store for 11 years. And, if there had been problems, there wouldn't be any warranty on the strings.
So, you probably CAN string most good flats through the body, but if anything goes wrong, the manufacturer may not help you much.
John
