The E just B-A-R-E-L-Y went through the bridge; in fact, I had to peel off the silk windings to get the A and E strings through the bridge. And that was a .105 E.

I usually use it in only in acoustic settings with just a touch of amplification so I can cut through. It sounds sweet....soft and mellow without all the noise of PB's.
Truth is, no matter what brand(s) or model(s) of ABG/string combinations you try, and no matter what anybody else tries to tell you, you're going to need some level of amplification if you plan on playing with more than one or two acoustic guitars. It's the nature of the beast.
Fact....plain and simple!

| Do you remember which tapes you used?
The ones I bought wouldn't fit on my MK and I really want some on it.
thanks |

One problem is that you need power.
How about a Fender Can amp which is battery powered.
Also would like to try the Roland Micro Bass on batteries.

The author said something like he just smiled when complimented on how well his ABG projected. |

About $20 more than a Microbass, with about the same power and the same size speaker. It uses 2 of those type batteries that go in a UPS, and they last at least 4 hours or more. Plug it in to recharge. |

BBC 4 had a night on American folk music and I'm really tempted by an upright now, pity I can't afford one for probably another year or something, bit of a shame.
