Are any of you strung your 09 Am. Std. Jazz with flats? If so, what kind of flats? Trough the body or loaded on top?

Please explain the tone compared with the stock strings.

Thanks!

i want to know this too. If you are using them through the top or bridge. I bought chromes as that is almost all I can get here. Yet to put them on as the rounds that are on it now are just nicely broken in(read as almost dead)

I have TI flats on my 2006 AM Standard. Strung it through body. Love the tone!

I like La Bella 760FL flats on a Jazz Bass. Chromes are good, too.

+1! This is the way to go, TI flats are the gold standard. From there all the tone comes from your bones...

I like the TIs. Love the way they feel but was not floored by the tone like having the TIs on a Pbass. Did not have them on for a long time so it might not be a fair trial (but the Pbass it was instant tone heaven from the start).

I tried some LaBella DT flats (extra light). Was impressed with the tone. Really liked it but the strings had some serious inconsistencies so I took them off and am waiting for replacements to arrive.

I once had a LaBella failure on the saddle when I strung through the body. Called them and an older guy who had been there as long as I've been alive said never to string through the body no matter what people say. (Even their catalog at the time said it was OK!) I may get flamed but I am convinced any tonal differences between going through the body or bridge are in the persons head not the instrument. I've tried it repeatedly and there is no noticeable difference. I'll believe it when someone posts a clip. (If there is one, its so subtle that it disappears when in a band setting.)

To through another kink in the mix, I also really like TI Superalloys on the Jazz. I would say it is as close to a flat sound from a round I'v ever heard.

My Jazz is an 07, but I can't imagine there being a great deal of difference.

Ok, so everybody says T1 Flats, can you post a pic of those strings because I can´t seem to find them arround here in Europo. How much do the cost?¿?

Can somebody describe the tone compared to the stock strings?¿

Thanks a lot guys!

They're made in Austria. Should be available in Europe. I have them on both my basses. I'm set for life.
