Flats convert

Wow. Just got a great setup along with some flats put on my MIJ p-bass. Love that bass, and have had DR-Highbeams (great strings) on it for years. Bought a new USA p-bass though, so decided to keep the rounds on the new bass, and put some Labella Deep Talkin' Flats on the MIJ. Holy! Sounds so pure and fat with the treble rolled off, makes me want to play in a dub band or something. Love the high-tension of the flats too--great harmonics. Sounds like a whole other bass from before. Can't believe I never tried flats until now. Love those Labellas!

I just converted in the last month or so. Everything else feels like sandpaper now.

I've got Chromes on my fretless 6, Roto 77's on my Turser 5 string and I just stuck a used set of Roto 77's on a Spector Euro 5 I recently got and it's awesome. I've got some Jazz Flats on the way for that sucker...

I'm very intrigued with the idea of flats. I've never had them on one of my basses and I've never tried a nice bass with flats.

Posts like this just peak my interest.

Think I'll pick up some Chromes in the next few weeks.

Try the Deep Talkin flats - they are GREAT! (Think "James Jamerson...mid 60's...Motown") 'Nuff said.
