Flats ID help My Road Worn P (which I bought use) came with the best set of flats I've ever used. I don't know what they are though! They have sort of a light red silk wrapping (not 100% on this, I'm colorblind, see photos!). In the photos below, the A string is a D'Addario Chrome, so you can see the difference in the winding. Thanks! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Rotos 45-105 set or La Bella 760FL or TI jazz Flats. Do they have silk at the bridge? La Bellas don't, TI do, not sure about Rotos. |
The only flats that I know of and use with red silk are LaBella Deep Talkin' Bass and Rotosound 77s. |
The E string is something different, perhaps GHS? |

The first pic is misleading--it looks like the blue one is the E. It's not, it's the A. |
I'm going to rule out TI Jazz Flats. They are not as neatly polished. Neither are Rotos. My guess is La Bellas 760FL. They are very smooth and highly polished. |
They are DEFINITELY not TI Flats. I've used those enough to know I hate them. :) |
They are LaBellas, I'm 100% sure. I have them on two of my basses, and they are the smoothest flats ever (even TI are not that much polished). The wound, the silk, the end of the strings (under the red silk). It has to be LaBella |
Indeed LaBella's with a D'Addario Chrome A-string |
Thanks guys! |
Are these the correct ones? I see that the product code is "760FS"... http://www.bassstringsonline.com/La-...Set_p_219.html |
I would say those are 760FL... The 760FS are Black silk, the 760FM are Blue, the 760FX are more orangeish.. |
