Flats on my 5 string

Sign in to disble this ad
My main bass is a MIM J Bass and I use DR Marcucs Miller Fat Beams. I have a new 5 string and I was thinking about putting flats on it. What do you think. It is a MM/J config. I have had flats before just dont know if its a good idea for this bass. Thanks

Its a Fullerton music123 house brand. I plan on doing some mods to it. They had them on closeout

FWIW, I've got Sadowsky flats on my 'vette std. 5, and I've got no plans to change back to rounds.

Just curious what type of music you play. Sounds like I may lean towad flats. It would even give me more of a different sound than my J bass

Sorry to get back with you so late. Sadowskys were a good choice for me, hopefully they will be for you too.

FWIW, I play funk, rock and country. These are all my basses (almost), and except for the black Precision, they all have flats on them.

Thanks for the bass pics and info. I play contemporary christian but I like to study funk and old school sounds like Motown and older R&B to somehow incoperate it in my music. I think the flats will work great and give me a big different sound than what my J bass gives.
