just as a quick question confiming what i want to do i was wondering if you all think its a good idea to put flatwounds on my 08 MIM fender p bass. i play mostly rock, alternative, bit of grunge, but i enjoy dabbling in jazz and i have future hopes to pursue jazz a bit. just a quick q.

Haha great username. Wish I would have thought to do that. Anyway. Flats and pbass have been dating eachother for years and there are rumors that they are engaged. Seriously though you can't go wrong with flats on a pbass for jazz however I don't know that I would use a p just cause clarity is usually king in a jazz setting

I've got Chromes on my pbass. It sounds great. I play rock, alternative rock, alternative country, classic rock, Christian, blues, and even a little jazz. Works great for all of that.

Flats could be a lousy idea, or could be the best thing that ever happens to you.

What do you like/dislike about Your Sound right now, & where do you want Your Sound to go?
