Flats, Nylon, and Round...*Choices*

Ok...

So I recieved my SX Fretless P Bass today. Came sporting some nice nylon/flat type strings...

So heres the thing...

I play in a 3 man outfit right now...2 acoustics and a now fretless bass. The thing is, I really wanted a warm sounding Jaco sound (hence the fretless).

I find the nylon/flats to be great for harmonic stuff and for making a sort of spacey hollow sound...but I really want that warm and somewhat hollow, acoustic like sound.

What sort of strings should I go with to better produce this tone I am looking for?

Stick with what you have on there - Nylon flats are the strings that will get you closest to that warm, "upright" type sound, IMHO.

Just fiddle with your EQ (amp) a bit & dial in what sounds best to you!
