Question flats on a ric?

would flatwounds work on a ricenbacker 4003? would it take a way from the "ric sound"?

the original ric sound was from flats on a ric

i think 99% of any basses come with rounds... even basses really meant for flats...

Listen to some late Beatles albums. Revolver is a good one, I think Paul started using the Rickienbaker on that one.

All the early (pre-disco) Bee Gees albums are excellent Ric + flats albums... To Whom it May Concern is probably the best for the bass sound...

I have Chromes on mine and really dig the sound and the feel. If I dig in I can still get the clank.

Yes, you can definitely get the Ric sound with flats. I played one just recently and it was awesome!

well thanks for the advice guys. i certainly dont have the $ for a ric, but im saving up for one. and when i get one, ill put flats on her

Yeah, flats sound good on a ric. I had Rotosound flats on my 4001v63 and it was badazz
