Flats String gauge help please

Now that i know i want ghs precision flats after Ron G showed me a video link of these, i need to know something.
I saw they have a set that is 55-70-90-105
but what i was thinking was going to juststrings.com and ordering them in singles so i could go 55-70-90-100 instead, or going 55-75-90-100.
Would this be looking for trouble?
Or could it be done without throwing the bass and sound out of whack?

55-100 is really unbalanced. I would not go that route if you want even tension, the G string will be much tighter than the E.

If you're used to roundwounds, go with a lighter gauge than you use in rounds, as flats tend to be stiffer than rounds. Step down a size from what you use in rounds, and you should be o.k.

If you want to get a custom set, www.bassstringsonline.com is the place to do that. He's got a huge selection of flats that you can build a set with. His shipping also much cheaper than that other place, AND you'll get the TB user discount.

Here's a direct link to the Precision flats if you know that's what you want:

True, but the precision flats have a round core, resulting in less tension than normal flatwounds.
