id say my jazz plus w la bella 760 sounds woody and thumpy as any bass ive heard...but prolly not upright... so more like a wet muddy sandy steak
also check out dexplosion's posts on this site for sound clips which are very good on a p bass with all the diff types of strings

Also, I prefer dirty pork to dirty steak. But.....with sand I'd prefer the pork. Steak is much more suited to dirt.  |

I play Trubass88s on my JazzV and find it's very very fat. Gristly.
Totally different beast with the mute. Especially with Envelope Phaser and OC-2.
