I was wondering if anyone knew of companies that produce flatwound bass strings that do not have silk ends, besides Dean Markley of course.

It looks nice, but it has a tendency to fray. | That is true; One time I was changing the strings from flat to round on a bass a few times, and after putting the flats back on again for the third time or so, I had noticed that the headpiece had little red dust specs ALL OVER IT, so I blew on it once and it cleared away.
But it only happened because I was toying with the strings a lot.
