| Flats without taper?

Are there any "real" flats that don't have tapers at the bridge end? I love my La Bella deep talkin' strings, but the B has a pretty long taper at the bridge-end that seems to screw-up my intonation. I've got the saddle as far from the neck as possible (required to get intonation *almost* correct), but the part of the string sitting on the saddle is too close to the little eyelet, where the "messy windings" are. These strings would probably be good for through-the-body (in spite of the disclaimer in the packaging), but all I have is through the bridge.
I believe tapers (at bridge) are supposed to help intonation, but at least on this bass (Ibanez SR496), the saddle is too close to the part of the bridge that the string eyelet rests against. Moving the saddle towards the neck makes intonation even worse than it already is.
Note: While I like TI Jazz Flats, they are not the kind of ol' time flats I'm looking for.
