The flatwound alongside roundwound experiment!

So I have this crazy idea of putting low B and E flatwounds on my 5 string Sandberg Ken Taylor, and keeping the other three strings roundwounds...
Has anyone here ever tried it or heard of such a combination on the same bass?

I heard of people using it the other way around - B and E round, ADG flat.

Never tried it myself, but I can see why some people would do that. Adds more clarity to the lower strings, but keeps the thump on the high strings.

That would be a first from what I've seen on this site...

Let us know!

T-Bone Wolk mixed flats and rounds, too. Flats E and A, rounds D and G.

wouldn't surprise me if he did... T-bone was a true bass legend. is there any specific recording/video that you might know of where he uses that kind of string set up?
