Question Flatwound C-string

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,
I have recently bought a 5 string fretless bass (cheap but new) but the roundwound strings on it are seriously killing my (rosewood I think) fretboard. So i figured new string would be cheaper then a new fretboard/epoxy... Since I'm getting into playing chords on my bass, I wat to get a high C instead of the low B
BUT, I can't find either a 6-string flatwound package or a loose C-sting flatwound in The Netherland, and all the International shops won't ship to Holland... I think getting a loose string and a 4-string package would be cheapest (already found GALLI 5-string flatwound for €40, but thats with a B-string...)

So does anyone know a dutch shop that sells single strings?
Also, would the sound of the string hugely differ if I bought a 4-string package and a loose C-string?

Many thanks!

Maybe someone knows a (web) shop that DOES ship strings outside its country?

You seriously can't find anyone that will import? TI is based in the UK and that is what I use for my flatwound c string. You WILL break strings like mad if you try to tune a G up to C.

I don't about strings in your region specifically, but if you contact Steve at www.thedudepit.com, he breaks up sets and sells TI strings in singles. So you could get an EADGC set from him easily. I don't think he would have a problem with sending them overseas.

Actually, according to the TI dealer terms, he isn't permitted to sell overseas.
