Flatwound Tapered E

Did a search and only found tapered 'B' strings....

I've got a '08 Fender P bass (4 string). Removed the stock strings (with the tapered E at the bridge), and put on D'addario Chrome flats. The E on the Chromes isn't tapered, and doesn't sit quite right in the bridge.

Does anybody sell a set of flats that has a tapered 'E' string?

"doesn't sit quite right in the bridge"

What do you mean, too high? too low?

The saddles are grooved. The string diameter on the flat is too large to set in the groove properly. The stock strings from Fender have a tapered E string. I'm just trying to find a Flatwound tapered E string that will sit in the saddle properly.

No need to worry about it. The 'normal' style strings just sit ontop of the groove, that's how they did for decades and decades. It won't move.
You just have to adjust your saddle height down so the action is correct again.

There are no taper wound flats.
