This is just my opinion of course, but do you really want fresh flatwounds on for a concert? What I mean is, flats usually sound their best once they've broken in, which could take a month depending on how often you play.

If the festival is next month, get the flats on asap and play 'em every day. For Jazz/swing most flats will work. I like the Rotosound heavy Jazz set.

I vote either TI or Rotosound flats, with a definite lean toward the TI's

i found a remedy for this. apply moisturizing lotion to new flats with a paper towel. whether it's oils and dirt from your skin or the moisturizing lotion... the strings don't care, same effect. makes em sound like you've been playing them for 10 years

Jazz Flats are my no1 choice too, Steve Harris Sig's if I need high tension.

TI's are going to be the best for Jazz. I find that chromes are a good choice if you need more midrange projection. GHS Precision flats are great when they break in for that classic sound with a little more tension. If you are used to lower tension rounds, I would choose Chromes in Light (95-75-60-40) or TI JFF 344's.
