Flatwounds on an acoustic

would it be possible to fit short scale flatwound strings to an acoustic bass or would there be any problems with the bridge etc.

Flats are very common on ABGs - you may want to do a search on "ABG string", there's been a lot of past discussion you may find helpful.

I'm told not to use non-bronzed strings on my EAB, and it seems no one makes flatwound bronzed strings. Do you get adequate acoustic volume playing non-bronzed flatwounds?
