Flatwounds with high tension?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey,

Recently I sanded down a bass of mine and refinished it. I also defretted it. However, the bass doesn't stay in tune as it used to. I'm wondering if this is because a) I used the same strings on it from before sanding or b) because of the neck adjustment (the defretting) it changed the neck somehow.

So what do you guys think? Is it the strings, the neck adjustment? Do I need higher tension strings?

Any string suggestions?
