Flea sounding short scale strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've got a Gibbo SG Supreme with awful fender strings on it, that's all GC had. I've found with this particular set of strings, I usually get a dead string or two and I've had it. They don't even sound good anyhow, so I was wondering what I should do. I was going to order a set or two from juststrings, but I was looking for advice. I know my gibson will never sound like a jazz or a modulous, but I like that sound. Any ideas? I've been doing mostly slap and finger style stuff lately.

thanks!

wrong direction

gibson is always into that crunchy sound if your looking to slap get a better bass throw like $500 together and you will be able to get a flea sorta bass. My advise if your intrested in slap is you need a more jazz like bass. get a single/maple neck.
