I might buy them if I hear good things about them - they're only $27!

On occasion I've received some free sets of strings from other leading companies, and I just can't get the same feeling, tone, and lasting qualities that I get from Fodera strings. I love their Nickels... |

Give them a shot and let us know what you think! We work really hard to make these strings the equal of our instruments. Tom, Mary Alice and Rick (the three people that hand make every Fodera string) do wonderful work. In terms of pricing, if you are willing to buy 5 or 10 sets at a time (on our website), you'll save a bunch of money!!

Has anyone compared this string to DR Sunbeams? |

| | | | I have DR sunbeams on my fretless, Fodera Diamond Nickels on my fretted, I'd say that the sunbeams are brighter overall while the Fodera is a little more warmer. |

The 6-string Fodera heavies were on all of my basses for a year or two. I eventually went with another company's strings for tension purposes, but the Foderas definitely had a nice sound to them. Very articulate.

| | Supporting Member | | | | | I use the Vic 4's on a spector and they are just so easy to play. Feel good on the hands and sound good. I have had one set on that bass for about 6 months and they still sound great. I just ordered a set of the 5'ers for my new sadowsky.(that may be a sin) but I am going to give them a shot. |

I'll let you know how they sound on the Ibby once I receive them

I couldn't be happier to find out they're made in-house.
I'm also glad I have one less reason to go to Guitar Center. |

The string to string balance (both tension and volume) is so consistent. The feel is very good too, and that's coming from a long time TI user. |

Check out our "factory" (LOL!) here: http://www.fodera.com/PublicPages/BassStrings.aspx | Hey Jason, maybe you have answered this elsewhere, but how long does it take your people to wind a full set of string? Seems like it would take a decent amount of time, especially since it's done by hand and not by a machine. |

The first thing I noticed was the even tension and volume balance across the strings. I had another company's nickels on it and the B string was loud, but there was a significan drop in volume on the remaining 4 strings. The tone is warm, but if you dig in, they bite. I played two gigs on them this weekend, and my first and second impression is they are good strings. I purchased my set from Bass Specialties. Oh yeah, the price is right too. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
