Yes, I have a Yamaha RBX series bass. I wanted to try out the Rotosound Stainless Steel roundwound RS 66LD Swing Bass strings. My bass has a rosewood fingerboard. Should I be expecting alot of fret and fingerboard wear with these strings? Can anybody help? Alot of players say there is alot of fret wear with these strings.
I had to stop using them, because I discoverd grooves & metal shavings in the tops of my frets in some places... and this was on a relatively new Fender Amer Precision at the time.
Both my basses have chewed up frets from those strings. They sound amazing.. I just love the sound of them, but I also do a lot of bends & vibratos when I play & I think that probably really contributed to the early fret wear.
