I have a fretless Modulus Jazz w/ phenolic board coming in a day or two. My question is;what strings do guys like and why?

The phenolic board can be bright.
I suggest.
DR Sunbeams.
Ken Smith Compressors.

I have four fretless basses. I use these string sets on them:
Flats: GHS Precision Flatwounds, .40-.95
Rounds: SIT Nickel Powerwounds, .45-.100
GHS Tapewounds, .50-.105
Any of the three make really good fretless strings. It just depends on what sound you want.
