Fretless MWAAAHHHH

Does higher action lend itself to more of that mwwwaaaahhh goodness on a fretless bass?

I just put a set of LaBella Nylon Flats on my EBMM Stingray and can't believe how much more of that slippery mwwwaaah goodness it has

I've always heard low action is ideal for mwah.

Low action here on my Carvin fretless - plenty of mwah. I think it's the strings themselves more than the action. I originally had D'Addario half rounds on it - not much mwah. Switched to DR Sunbeams - mwah galore!

Finger articulation can help alot

Low action helps, but then you are locked in to the sound a bit. If you use the pad of your finger instead of the tip, you can have more control of the Mwah (of course you have to compensate for intonation...
