I'm going to be soon getting a fretless P/J. What would be the best flats to put on it? The only sets I would like to stray away from are TIs and Pyramid Golds.

I've got Chromes on a fretless P. It sounds pretty sweet.
I find the Chromes to be very responsive to both right and left hand technique. They can get bright if I need them to, and dull and thumpy if I need them too. They're a very versatile string.

I'd use Fender 7150s or 7250s if I were going round, and GHS Brite flats or GHS Precision flats If I were going the groundwound/flatwound route. If I wanted something in the middle it would be GHS Pressurewounds.
