Full strings for a J-bass

I have a MIA Jazz, and my tone has a lot of Mids and a bit of lows. What strings would help me get a full, fat, and punchy bass tone? I play mostly punk/alternative/ska/reggae, and I want to be able to cut through better. I was thinking about DR, but I'm not too sure. I don't want a real "stringy" tone...

I think I'm strung with D'Addarios now, but I'm not sure, as they were the strings on my bass when I got it. I know they aren't Fender strings, because the ends of the strings (the bridge-side end) have different colors for each string...

I'd recomend trying some flats, maybe labella deep talkin' flats. I really like them on my bass, and I'll play such styles as yourself once in a while with good results.

Good Luck
