G string Chromes slip on stingray post?

I've been a round wounder for years now and recently dabbled in flats. I put chromes on both my P basses and dig em. Got a set for my stingray 5 and the G string kinda strips itself and spins in the tuning post. Tried 3 different chrome G's. I tried anywhere from my normal 2 wraps around the post, to and entire string without being cut short. I dunno what to do or why this is happening.

HELP!

Yep! I used to use chromes on a stingray5 and had the slippage problem. The trick is to wrap one of the windings under the first it looks like a knot. I got it to work reliably with a few tries. Never had issues and played that bass out often.

I put some Chromes on a bass that has 1/2" post Hipshot tuners today and had the slippage problem until I put a right angle bend about 1/2" before the end of the silk, trimmed off the bare end of the core wire, then inserted the bent end in the center hole of the post. No more slippage.

This
Stick the end of the string in the hole in the tuner post if it has one
