So anyone know of any shops that have strings this thin? And yes, the .90 WILL be for a LOW E. I like (melodic and controlled) bending a lot. I'd also perfer something not ridiculusly bright when new and not soemthing that eats my wallet alive just by the mention of their price.

Buy a rotosound (I think) drop tune set. The A string in that set is a point 90 or so and you can use that and not use the other strings in the set.

A .85 A string could work as well.

No I want all of my strings to be thinner. Right now I've got 95-75-60-40 and I want 90-70-55-35.

Shouldn't you be looking at tension too, not just gauge?

the reason I want thin strings is for lower tension.

I'm still gonna be tunin' good ol' EADG on a 34' scale.

My other suggestion is to get a standard 6 string bass set and not use the B and E strings. You'd use the A, D, G and C string. The should be a .85, .65, .45, .30. Other wise the only way you'll be able to get the guages you want is;

1. Go to Juststrings.com and look for the right guages and order online.

2. Contact DR and find out if they will be able to make those custom guages for you, once you find out you should go to your local DR dealer and see if they can order it for you. You cannot order direct from the factory.
