Geddy Lee Jazz w/ DR High-Beam Flats?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Everyone!

Just picked up a set up DR HB Flats for my Jazz. I'm strung with DR HB rounds right now and they're too noisy, bright, and low tension. Does anyone have experience with the DR Flats on a Jazz?? Did I pick up the right strings??

Thanks for your feedback!

Interested in this topic..

I like the DR low beams I have now and I dial back the tone control on the Geddy a fair amount...but great growl...definitely a place for that

Love Chromes on my P bass and love DRs rounds, so I am interested if a brighter flat works well for the GL too...

I may be a bit prejudice, but I just like flats. I have a set of Marcus Miller flats on a bass and like them alot, but I seem to lean towards D'Addrio Chrome Flats for my Jazz bass, but like I said, I like flats. They are a good all 'round string, and you can get alot of different sounds out of them, depending how you use them.

Thanks for the replies!

Update: I put them on last night and wow, dude I love flats. The feel and smoothness is unbelievable. There is virtually no string noise, it's great.

Now this is my first set of flats so I have nothing to compare them to and I know they aren't broken in yet but the E string sounds so dead compared to my other strings, is this normal or is it these DR flats I'm using. My A, D, G strings sound so much brighter then the E. Should I have listened to Becker3567 and purchased Chrome Flats for my Jass??
