I was all about some GHS Bass Boomers back in the day when I was first starting out... from what I remember of them, they were okay. Nothing to write home about, but I recall them usually dying out rather quick. Right now my go-to rounds are D'Addy XL's, however I'm slowly but surely making the transition over to flatwounds anyway. Wouldn't mind giving GHS flats a go...

I'll tell ya the truth,I really don't hear a big difference between the D'Addario XL Nickelwound and the GHS Bass Boomers.Maybe the Boomers have a little more bottom....maybe ? I used the GHS Precision Flatwounds for awhile, but grew tired of them...they were too dead and thumpy sounding, and I couldn't hear the note alot of the time. I've found the D'Addario Chromes to be the Flatwound for me.

expect big tone out of them...if you are looking for bright and snappy, these are not the strings for you. But if you want serious thump and bottom end, you might have found your new favorite strings =)
