GHS Bass Boomers - Weak B String?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been using GHS Bass Boomers for a while now, and I love them.......on my 4 stringers.

just got a second hand Warwick Streamer Stage 2 5-String which came with Warwick Blacks, and the B was sooooo powerful. Loud, deep but not muddy.

just bought a Musicman $$ Sterling 5-String which came with EB Slinkys, and the same. Loud, deep but clear......

out of habit, i put on bass boomers, and suddenly, they loose their 'boom'. no depth, and sound 'hollow'. the other 4 strings sound superb, the E string is fine.

Anybody else found this a problem?

My B string sounds pretty weak...I don't use it a lot because of it.

For 15 years, I've used nothing but Boomers on my Stingray 5, and the B has been great. Not sure what the problem is.
