These are awesome turned my kids size p bass into a thump machine.

I'm wondering what they'll sound like on my Indiana P style bass.

Any one have these on an all maple neck p or j bass? And what are the results?

Thanks guys,

remember my bass is for sale:

I've used them and I like them. They're a roundwound string wrapped in a nylon tape. I personally would prefer they were flats wrapped in tape for a warmer sound but that's just my opinion.

Actually I think they are a brite flat under the black nylon wrap, cause when I strung up my kids short scale bass I could see the medal string under the black nylon, defiantly not a round wound, a grounded down to flat roundwound

Yep looks like a core with a roundwound wound on that then a ruff (not polished) flat on top that, then black nylon on top that. Coolness

I've had the same set on a cheap five string for a couple of years now. I love the mellow, round tone. Great for when I'm playing some classic lurve ballads

Of the four or so tape sets I have used I like these the best. Not too tension heavy but not too floppy, easy to play, and just look cool. Great strings. I have them on my 5 string fretless. Give it sort of an "upright" sound.

Just ordered a set from bassstringsonline.com. Can't wait to see how they do.

If you call GHS, they'll tell you they're a roundwound wrapped in tape.

I've been using these on my basses since I strung my 67' Starfire with them in 68'. Any string you use for almost 45 years has to have something going for it. Just wish they made a short scale set as they don't fit all my shorties. But the 5 string set worked real good on the Gibson Les Paul 5er.

zombie thread

just picked up a pair of the GHS tape wounds on a recommendation from the Luthier I take my basses too.
I mentioned I was going to get some Rotosound and he steered me in the GHS direction.
