Very quick one, do these strings have silk threaded
ends?

don't know if it's silk, but there's something threaded over the ends.

Polyester or cotton to average for you?

Fine by me, it's not about the actual material but whether it's there and simply in order to try and identify a set of strings on an instrument I bought recently

Are they threaded in both ends?

I think on both sides, but I'm not sure about the ball-end side. I'm not near my GHS stringed bass, so im not a 100% sure. Funny how some things you see everyday don't register in memory.

For identification purposes: I do remember they are red for medium and medium-light boomers.

GHS Boomers has red silk windings at the headstock end, but no windings in the ball end.
