GHS BOOMERS "G" STRING PROBLEM

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been using GHS "Flea" signature Boomers on my music man sterling, 4 string. I like the strings overall, but the G string sounds alot like a guitar G string, not like a bass G string. Has anyone had this experieince, and if so, is there a remedy? Please respond>
Eric.

I've played them and I never had any problems beside short lasting. You think it's too bright? Well, if you just changed the strings they are maybe bright but that will pass in a day or two.

Boomers are the bassiest rounds I know. Does the phenomena present itself at all times, or is it specific to this particular set of strings. The do start out quite bright, but after about 8 hours of play time, they settle down into a beautiful full sound.

At least they do on my Ric.

No, I have had these strings on for a couple of months and it just seems that the G string sounds more like a guitar string than a bass string. I have made many adjustments on my amp head, G?K 1001, changing settings , etc, but still souinds more like a guitar string. what do you think>?

Try GHS fatties. I found them to be much more satisfactory tone-wise.
