GHS Boomers vs Bassics real difference?

Sign in to disble this ad
I wonder if someone that tried both Bassics and Boomers knows what is the real difference in sound and visually between them...

is there a way to recognize them by eye? Later I'll explain why I'm asking such a silly question

ok, since no reply has come, I'll try to explain better my situation

I've bought two sets of Boomers 45-105 and I noticed that A string has a different silk, it is brighter red and it is thicker than the other strings silk... also the ball at the end of the string is a little different...

it seems like there is one string out of four that came from a different set...

I wonder if this is normal... that's all I wanted to know...

Could have been a different batch of strings that were made a different day, so there were slight differences. I would string it up anyway, I doubt there would be that much differencnce. The one set with one string different may have been used to replace the string on a bass in the store, and then they found a replacement for the string in the set. Who knows these days. If you have any doubts, take it back.
I am not quite sure, but it seems to me that Bassics do not have silk ends......but then again, it's been over a decade since I used them.

anyway in the store, all Boomers sets are like this, all their last order from GHS

I've already put a set on my Stage II and it sounds quite good... now that i know that Bassics should not have silk wrapping I'm less worried let's say that it's just a matter of look now

thanks for the replies guys

I think I'll give a try even on my Elite II!
