GHS Precision Flat Wounds

What gauge would you guys recommend? I tune my basses half a step down (Lakland BG and MIJ P-Bass). Don't want things to get too floppy but I also don't want excessive boominess of a larger gauge.

I have one bass strung with 'standard' 45-105 tuned in D. They feel a bit loose, but not too loose. GHS percision flats are always relative boomy. The larger gauge however will be tighter and therefor less boomy (not more!).

I have the .45-.95 set on a Squier Bronco as a "secret weapon bass" when I want to record something with a real vintage thump. I love this set and am considering putting them on my Ric 4001 to get more of a McCartney Ric sound.

Precision Flats are my "go-to" flats these days. I prefer the light (.45-.95) gauge because of their lower tension. They have the traditional flat sound, but they are not so boomey that the E and A strings override the A and G, and are the most balanced set in the Precision Flats line.

How do you think the tension would feel with half a step down tuning (I also go to drop D half a step down sometimes)?

Better go with a larger gauge if you are going to detune. I'd go with the .45-.105 or .55-.105 set for that.
