The B string on it was always great. The biggest difference between teh GHS and Ken Smith B string is the Ken Smith is Tapered and the GHS is not. The tapered may help with fitment at the bridge on a 4 string when tuned BEAD.
The Presurewound B string is pretty tight and responsive due to the construction of the strings with the pressurewound outer windings. |

Anyway, the B is as strong as any I've EVER had on this bass. It's thick and full sounding, nice and tight feeling. |

The Compressors are tapered on the low B, and I prefer the non-tapered for the 2Tek bridge. Other than that they are almost identical, with the GHS strings having black silk and the Smith strings having purple. I personally never really fell in love with tapered core strings, so you'll have to make your own choice there.

Are all TI's this way?

The problem is that I'm stymied by the Warwick bridge's need for a tapered B
Is the Ken Smith Compressor comparable/similar enough to blend in with a set?
Love to give more of the GHS line a try after the impression they've left on me so far |

If you go into playing them thinking they're going to be like other strings then they'll feel loose, but if you play them for what they are they make for good strings. |

| | | You know the B-String-Test here (look from 1:30)? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLcwYNHDnPY
Does the B of the Pressurewounds sound like the other strings? Or is it dead as described in the video? The TI Flat B is very good sounding in comparison... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
