Gibson bass owners

Anyone who owns a Gibson bass (especially an SG style), what kind of strings do you like most to use on it? I'm used to my ash/maple Jazz bass and this mahogany/rosewood combo is a huge difference for me. I've been using D'Addario EXL165 strings for the past 2 months because they were just around when I got the bass. But I'm looking for something new. I just ordered some DR heavy Lo-Riders for my Jazz but I'm now considering putting them on my SG. I like large gauge strings too. Any help would be great.

I have a Gibson SG Supreme. I like the stock strings. They're .045-.105 rounds. They feel really nice and sound pretty good.

I took them off the day I got the bass. Maybe I shouldn't have done that.

I guess it all depends on what you like. I think they're pretty good strings. I don't know who makes them for Gibson, but they're decent strings.

Hey Bro. , I've got three Gibson basses. On my two Les Paul basses, I use DR Sunbeams 40-100 . On my Thunderbird, and my Fender Jazz , I use DR Sunbeams 45-100. I like that the Sunbeams have a round core , instead of a hex core , and I really like nickel. The round core also seem to make them last a long time . I've gotten a lest two months out of one set of sunbeams, with steady playing, and giging. They're a low tension string , so they may not be for everybody, but they do have that nice old school sound. Also there kind of bright at first , but quickly settle in real nicely. Note: they also have 45-105s , if you like a thicker string. Hope this helps.

Cool. I'll try them. I usually like high, thick and tight strings. But I might love these.
