Gibson Ripper flats question.

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got a set of Rotosound 77 jazz bass flatwound strings for my Ripper. Is it alright if I string it through the body or will I have problems?

Ripper problems

The only problem will be if the string is not long enough. My Rippers are fitted with extra long scale strings to allow for the extra length. I have one with D'addario chromes, and one with Labella deep talkin'

You typically need the extra longs to string through the body, although I didn't know this when I bought normal Chromes for my ATK, said screw it and did it anyways and I haven't had a problem.
