Give me a reason to try lighter gauge Strings

I have D'Addario Mediums on my basses now and I'm wondering if lighter gauge strings would have any sort of benefit. I think its time for a string change or its getting close and I considering things.

Wadda ya think? One is an SB2 and the other an Aerodyne.

less tension, easier playability

i've used lighter gauge strings for a while. used 30-90, 35-95, and have settled on 40-100. for me, it's the best combination of playability and tone.

Try them. I liked the EBMM light Slinkies most of the light strings.

They are really easy on the hands, and pretty much sound fine.

Some like heavier, some like lighter. I like lighter. I would use 35-90 if I could find them in a D'addario XL twin pack for $20 like the 40-95's.

you could probably try a 105, 85, 60, 40, hybrid gauge for a crisp snappy slap and pop sound when you pull the strings.
