GIVE YOUR PERSONAL LIST OF PROS AND CONS FOR ROUNDWOUND AND FLATWOUND STRINGS

This is a spin off of the WE BASSISTS GOT IT BAD thread. The reason why is because although the round wounds talk back, I was told it could clean up your technique. And Flatwounds are completely perfect (my own opinion) but you can't get the clear treble out of them.

I'm just gonna compile the info and then choose whether to keep my noisy rounds or go back to my flats for my brand new and first Fender!

IMO...

Roundwounds have better feel and tone
But flatwounds sound sweeter and sweeter as they get older, roundwounds not necessarily

Yes you can! I've never had a problem with getting enough treble with flats, or mids.

Round:

PROS
-----
Infact do sound like roundwounds.
Good agressive slap sound too.

CONS
-----
Don't sound like flats.
Eat away at fretless unfinished fingerboards.

Flat:

PROS
-----
Have the sweet flat sound.

CONS
------
Not a very agressive sound.
Too flat and slippery to the fingers.
