Good nylon tapewraps for a Taylor ABG?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm currently using D'Addario ECB81 XL Flatwound Chromes
(45, 65, 80, 100) on my Taylor AB-2.

Would like to try nylon tape wrapped flats.

Looking for a mellow, "pseudo upright" sound.

Would like to avoid truss rod adjustment if possible.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

John

Thumbs up LaBella

I would suggest trying out a set of LaBella tapewounds.
Both Rob Allen & Carvin use them on their basses.
Here is a sound sample of a Rob Allen with LaBella tapewounds: http://www.roballenguitars.com/sound_mb2.html

520lbGIANT: Thanks for your reply.

Nice sounding sample on the Rob Allen site.

I searched the Labella site to find tension & diameter info for the tapewounds. Their site needs major re-work! FAQ, Forum, other links seem busted.

Am concerned about needing to modify my Taylor AB-2 truss rod & nut.

Labella Tapewound specs anyone??

Thanks,

John
