I'm a big fan of the DRs, I use the XL Coated ones.
If you don't mind really coarse strings, Markley Blue Steels are nice...except they have really short life. I dunno, what kind of bass are you using? |

I'm using DA Chromes flatwounds, and guess what, they work for hardrock, listen to Iron Maden and AC/DC & Sabath those are flats you're hearing. |

i heard DR Strings Hi Beams are good, u think so? | I'm in a similar pickle (if you could call it that??), lookin to re-string and on certain advice searched out some dean markleys (for a good metal sound) but for some damn reason i can't get them over this part of the world.
DR strings were also recommended but what's the deal with stringin them (i hear it's not so straight forward) anyway, would a set of medium ernie slinky's suffice as they seem to be the only damn string they sell over here (i've tried rotosound and elites but fancy something different). |

Just take your strings off, that will give you the definitive ...And Justice for All tone.
