Going to string them up on my 55-02. I can't wait to string the bass up with them and see how it sounds and plays. I'm finding myself hardly ever using the B string, but looking more and more for the C string.

We'll see exactly how long it lasts before I want to go B-G again.. I'll let you guys know how it sounds.

Great strings. Sounds awesome on this bass, and the C is FULL and rich. Probably won't be switching anytime soon, unless the gig calls for it.. like a gospel or r&b gig

I just picked up some lo-riders to try instead of hi-beams. Suns are next on my list of strings to try. I have so much love for DR!

I've had a .30 Rotosound RS77 string that sounded like an extra guitar string. I've then had a .32 D'Addario string that sounded much more like a string one would use on a tenor bass, still had the guitar-like quality, but wasn't thin sounding at all, and actually fuller sounding than I would have even hoped a .35 to be.

Anyways, I take it you're using a .30 on the bottom? Either way, it sounds like you have a setup which will take you a long distance, which is always a good thing.

I have been thinking about string my fiver as you did but drop things a step. Probably need thicker strings but I never need anything below the low D.

I'm pretty much a SS kind of guy, but the Sunbeams look very interesting. I'm currently set up for a taper b though...

So you say they sound sweet on the 5502? What to do?

I am looking at Sunbeams for a P-bass. I want something warmer and smoother sounding than a typical roundwound, but I don't know if I want to go with flats. I was probably going to go with Chromes, but was thinking about these as an alternative. How do you think these would work on a P-bass as an alternative to flats?

I use Hi-Beams and nickel Lo-Riders on my Rick basses, and I want to try the Sunbeams too. I know they will sound fantastic as DR always do!

To the OP or anybody else who might know: is there a stock E-C set of DR Sunbeams or do you add a C to a 4 string set?
