Based on some good reviews here, I decided to try a set of D'addario Chromes. My local store had to special order them so I got a set in .50 -.105.
I started restringing with the E string and it snapped at the peg about 1/2 way to being in tune. I've never had that happen, so I called their customer service department asking if I could purchase just another E and to ask why that may have happened.
They were very apologetic, said it must be a defect and they would send me out an entire new set, at no charge! I offered to send my current set back, but they said to keep the other three strings for my trouble.
I don't know what to say. I didn't expect to be treated so well. They didn't even want me to send in my receipt. Phenomenal customer service IMO.
